POST FALLS SUMMER LEADERSHIP INSTITUTE (July 29)

Below are details regarding the Summer Leadership Institute being held in Post Falls on July 29th.

TIME: 1:00 pm PT

LOCATION: Post Falls High School, Room 127, 2832 E. Poleline Ave., Post Falls

MEALS: ISBA will provide refreshments and beverages in the afternoon and dinner that evening.

PARKING: Please park in the faculty parking lot, near the main building doors (not the Arena). Room 127 is just past the Office area, take the first right, 2nd door on the left.

Summer Leadership Institute (July 22 & 29, Aug. 5)

This is the former "New Board Member Workshop". To help districts reduce travel expenses, we are coming to you! This year we are offering 3 dates in 3 locations*!

Thursday, July 22 - ISBA Office, Boise

Thursday, July 29 - Post Falls HS, Post Falls

Thursday, August 5 - Jefferson Co. SD Office, Rigby

*We must have a minimum of 15 attendees to hold the workshop in each location.

This is an excellent opportunity for board members, superintendents, and clerks of all experience levels to learn more. Some of the workshop topics will include:

Roles & Responsibilities
Board Ethics
Effective Meetings
Basic School Finance
Board Policy
Board Scenarios (chain of command, handling patron concerns, confidentiality)

Plans are underway for ISBA's Day on the Hill. The tentative schedule is as follows:

2:30 pm - Senate Education Committee Meeting

5:00 pm - Legislative Workshop

6:30 pm - Dinner on your own

Thursday, February 17th:

7:00 am - Breakfast

8:30 am - House Education Committee Meeting

12:00 pm - Lunch With Legislators
