The ISBA Day on the Hill is the day where school board trustees converge on the Capitol to advocate for Idaho’s schools and the children. For the ISBA staff and Executive Board it is a magical time where we have the opportunity to experience those who set local policy working together with those who set state policy. Franklin Delano Roosevelt was once quoted when speaking to a lobbyist “You have convinced me, now go out and force me.” He believed that even a rationale idea from a lobbyist needs to be accompanied by the will of the people. His point was that politicians will act when it is in their best interest. Once a year in February we will have the opportunity to help our elected officials understand what is in the best interest of their constituents and therefore themselves.
Please look in Calendar & Events for additional information regarding when and where the Day on the Hill is scheduled for each legislative session.
