About Region Meetings

The Purpose of Region Meetings
Region Meetings are designed to gather trustees to discuss administrative issues facing your region. The goal is to provide you an opportunity to feel supported, build relationships, be heard, and voice concern. Typical discussion topics include region bylaw review and changes, legislative review, discussion on resolutions, or any other business your district or neighboring districts may want to discuss. It’s a great time to schedule a board training, or invite legislators to help build a relationship.

Who Hosts Regional Meetings?
Region Meetings may be hosted by any district in the region. Please contact your Region Chair if your district is interested in hosting. The Region Chair and Vice Chair responsibilities include coordinating the date, time, and location, creating the agenda, and notifying the region of the meeting. Sumbit agenda items for discussion to the Region Chair or Vice Chair.

The Role of ISBA
ISBA is here to help with the planning and presentation of your meeting. We will initiate the conversation around date selection, and coordinate the calendar to ensure any ISBA staff requested to attend are able to do so. As the meetings approach, ISBA sends email reminders and mails a postcard reminder to all trustees. The ISBA Executive Director will attend the Region Meeting, and if requested, provide a legislative report.

Idaho Education Network
Region Meetings may be held via the Idaho Education Network. This is a valuble option for geographically wide-spread regions. By hosting a virtual meeting, the entire region can benefit. Contact your Region Chair if you would like to be an IEN host. ISBA will assist you in connecting to the IEN.
