{"id":4550,"date":"2023-08-23T20:08:05","date_gmt":"2023-08-23T20:08:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.idsba.org\/convention\/?page_id=4550"},"modified":"2024-08-06T22:21:53","modified_gmt":"2024-08-06T22:21:53","slug":"student-video-contest","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.idsba.org\/convention\/student-video-contest","title":{"rendered":"Student Video Contest"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>ISBA Student Video Contest Details &amp; Submission Guidelines<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center has-black-color has-pale-cyan-blue-background-color has-text-color has-background\" style=\"font-size:18px\"><strong>Theme: <\/strong>School Heroes: Lighting the Way for Student Success<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-c2d7c666207ade3fde07f536a90dcbfe\" style=\"color:#14128c\"><em><strong>Create a video about someone at your school (teacher, coach, counselor, etc.) who helps students shine.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Some ideas to help guide you along:<ul><li><strong>A Day in the Life <\/strong>&#8211; Follow the school hero throughout a typical day, showcasing their interactions and impact. <\/li><\/ul>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Impact Stories<\/strong> &#8211; Compile short interviews with students sharing how the school hero has helped them succeed.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Hero\u2019s Influence<\/strong>&#8211; Showcase different areas (academics, sports, clubs) where the hero has a significant impact.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Hero Appreciation<\/strong>&#8211; Collect heartfelt messages and thank-you notes from students and staff.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Feature people, stills, animation \u2014 whatever you think best conveys your message. Get creative in your approach!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-color\" style=\"color:#14128c;font-size:20px\"><strong>Details and Rules<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The video must be no longer than 60 seconds.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The video must follow the guidelines outlined in the theme.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Any students shown in the video must have a signed photo\/video release form.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The school district or charter school must be a member of the Idaho School Boards Association.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-color\" style=\"color:#14128c;font-size:20px\"><strong>Video content must NOT<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Violate copyright laws (see below).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Promote illegal behavior.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Discriminate against or support prejudice toward others on ethnic, racial, religious, or sexual grounds.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Invade the privacy of any person.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Support or oppose a candidate for elected office or advocate for the passage or defeat of legislation or a ballot measure.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Be inappropriate as determined by ISBA.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-color\" style=\"color:#14128c;font-size:20px\"><strong>Copywrite Laws<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>No copyrighted material (music, images, etc.) or trademarks (company names, logos, brands, etc.) may be used unless the district\/charter owns or has&nbsp;a license to use the material for this contest.&nbsp;<\/strong>Written permission must be obtained and provided upon request for all copyrighted or trademarked materials.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>For the purposes of this contest, &nbsp;using an existing song with substitute words is not permitted.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-color\" style=\"color:#14128c;font-size:20px\"><strong>Prize Information<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>A $300 check will be awarded to three schools \u2014 one in the small category, one in the medium category, and one in the large category.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The category breakdown is as follows:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-table\"><table><tbody><tr><td><strong>Category:<\/strong><\/td><td><strong>District\/Charter Student Enrollment:<\/strong><\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Small<\/td><td>1,000 or less<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Medium<\/td><td>1,001 \u2013 8,000<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Large<\/td><td>8,001 \u2013 40,000<\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-color\" style=\"color:#14128c;font-size:20px\"><strong>Submission Details &amp; Guidelines<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>To submit a video, the school must:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Complete the online video entry form (below).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ensure the district or charter school has the proper filming permissions for each person featured in the video.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Upload your video file to YouTube or Vimeo and attach the link to the online application before submitting.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Submission Deadline: <\/strong>Wednesday, October 2, 2024&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Alt.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>If you do not feel comfortable using our online submission option, ISBA will also accept your video on a USB flash drive. <em>The flash drive must arrive at our office no later than<strong> October 2, 2024.<\/strong><\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>ISBA Office Address:<\/strong> 199 N.
