Professional Development

The Idaho School Boards Association strives to provide school board members with the information, professional development, and support needed to serve their district or charter school. Developing highly trained and effective board/superintendent-charter school administrator teams will help to positively impact student achievement.
The Legislature appropriates $6,600 per school district or charter school each fiscal year to be used specifically for board and superintendent/charter school administrator training. ISBA has professional development options available to best meet your needs. Contact ISBA for more information.
Professional Development Topics

Board Self-Assessment
The school board self-assessment, based on best practices within ten areas, has been updated and is now available online. The assessment is an opportunity to improve how the board works. Skillful facilitation of the review can result in a discussion that focuses on setting goals and identification of potential areas for professional development. As always, ISBA staff are available for workshops to help with the review of the assessment and development of goal areas.
CUSTOM TRAINING – Don’t see exactly what you are looking for? ISBA provides customized training to meet the Board’s needs.
