Workshop Description:
Idaho is facing a revenue shortfall, and while public schools may be held harmless, school boards should be prepared for potential downstream impacts on local budgets. With inflationary pressures and rising healthcare costs that continue to strain district/charter finances, boards are likely to navigate challenging conversations without corresponding increases in state funding . Compounding these challenges is the ongoing volatility of federal funding and a likely ‘freeze’ of teacher and staff increases, which can affect both planning and sustainability. ISBA is convening a panel of experienced school leaders to help school boards anticipate and oversee potential budget reductions for the 2026–27 school year. More information will be posted shortly.
