His first official day as ISBA’s Chief Learning Officer is today, March 27, 2023.

As a former school board member himself, Phil brings with him over 20 years of experience in school board development. His skills in group facilitation and training, thought and visionary leadership, relationship building, and advocacy make him a wonderful addition to ISBA and a great resource to all our members. Phil brings with him a multitude of talents such as being a VitalSmartstm Certified Crucial Conversations Trainer.

As the Chief Learning Officer, Phil will work to assist ISBA members with all aspects of the Professional Development Program. He will lead and supervise ISBA’s Leadership Development Consultants, develop and present workshops, create materials for board development, continue to maintain critical relationships with ISBA’s stakeholders, provide advice and support to ISBA members, and will continue to move along ISBA’s mission of advocating for Idaho students and public education by assisting school boards.

Phil and his wife, Julie, officially moved to the Treasure Valley in March of 2023. They are looking forward to being closer to their son and two of their four grandchildren. As an outdoor enthusiast, Phil is excited to explore all the great outdoor recreation opportunities Boise and the state of Idaho provide.
