Get up to speed quickly with essential knowledge, understanding, and skills for school board success.

ON BOARD helps new school board members quick start their learning journey and prepare for productive service on their board.

ON BOARD includes ISBA’s New Board Member Packet – two books on governance and our new board member booklet. It also includes six monthly webinars for new and first-year board members to enhance their learning over the next six months of January through June 2025.

Webinar Dates & Topics:

January 16 – Session 1: Responsibilities and Relationships

February 20 – Session 2: Essential Roles of Board Members

March 20 – Session 3: Basics of School Law

April 17 – Session 4: Basics of School Finance

May 15 – Session 5: Making a Difference for Students

June 19 – Session 6: Making Sense of Student Achievement Data

Webinars run from noon – 1:00 p.m. MT

COST:

OPTION 1: $300 per person, including ISBA’s New Board Member Packet and the six webinars. Each webinar, if attended live, is eligible for up to $50 of reimbursement, if the district or charter has reimbursable funds remaining.

OPTION 2: Single sessions are also available for $50, and are reimbursable as long as webinar is attended live.
