Budgeting in Uncertain Times

ISBA is excited to announce an innovative two-part webinar series for Idaho trustees on what they need to know about budgeting and finance this year and how to communicate that with their public. Idaho public school finance expert, Jonathan Gillan, is providing the financial overview and insight, and Allison Westfall, a communications professional, is sharing how to hold these and future conversations with the public.

Topics will include:
- Uncertainty with federal dollars moving forward
- Explaining funding nuances like average daily attendance (ADA) and line item restrictions
- Communicating to your community about your levy
- Demystifying what you hear in the news regarding public school investments
- April 14, 2025 – Idaho School Finance and the Board’s Role in Budgeting
- June 2, 2025 – Sustainable Budgeting and Ongoing Communication with the Public
Registration is $150 for the series or $500 for a full board.
These are one-hour webinars, held at noon MDT on the dates above. For those participating live, their district or charter is eligible for reimbursement of the registration fee from the State Department of Education.
