Position:  Director of Special Education (2021-22 SY)

Education:  Candidates must possess or be eligible for an Idaho Education Administrative Credential with a Special Education Director endorsement or have a comparable out-of-state certification which can be endorsed in Idaho.

Qualifications:   Candidates must have: successful experience in teaching and school administration; Master’s Degree or higher; demonstrated leadership ability in working with students, staff, parents and the public; advanced knowledge of laws and policies governing Special Education programs to include I.D.E.A., Section 504, Medicaid practices and procedures; etc.

Supervises: School Psychologists, Preschool Staff, Medicaid, Speech Language Pathologists, and jointly supervises building level Special Education Staff and other ancillary staff.

Responsibilities:  Position will include providing instructional and other program personnel supervision and evaluation; develop, manage, and implement federal and state revenue; ensure the appropriate implementation and management of due process procedures; supervise and manage appropriate implementation of record keeping and file management procedures as they pertain to Family Right to Privacy Act; consult with private schools/agencies regarding special services and child find; coordinate and effectively communicate with schools, community, private schools and state agencies as needed and coordinate with program and curriculum in general education.
