Position: Business Manager

District:  Snake River School District No. 52

Summary: Maintain district financial records according to federal and state law, administrative rules, and
board policy. Assist the superintendent in managing the business affairs of the district efficiently
and effectively to ensure that the educational support services achieve the educational goals of
the district with the available financial resources. Serve as general accountant for the board.
Maintain a complete and systematic set of records of all financial transactions of the district.
Assure that the school district’s payroll is properly processed and maintained in conjunction with
all federal and state laws and regulations. Calculate and monitor related activities, including
salary schedules, contracts, taxes, and insurance. Is a permanent member of the insurance
committee and continually reviews the district fringe benefit plan. Know and follow school district
policy and chain of command.
The work is performed under the supervision of the superintendent; but ample latitude is
granted for the exercise of independent judgement and initiative. The primary duties of this
position are performed in a general office environment.

Qualifications & Responsibilities:

➢ High School graduate with at least five years of experience and training which provides
the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work
➢ Knowledge of
○ Principles and practices of accounting,
○ State and federal laws related to school financial management,
○ Budgeting procedures and fiscal management,
○ Personnel and labor laws,
○ A working knowledge of computer systems (databases, spreadsheets, word
processing, etc.) and applications thereof.
➢ Ability to
○ Analyze accounting problems and determine alternate solutions,
○ Adapt to unique accounting problems where established procedures do not
always apply,
○ Prepare complete and accurate reports and statements of a complex nature,
○ Perform detailed work involving written or numerical data,
○ Maintain accurate and precise records according to district policy and Idaho law.
➢ Ability to
○ Work under management decision-making pressure and responsibility,
○ Communicate effectively – verbally and in writing
○ Develop effective working relationships with private and public managers, elected
officials, department supervisors and the public,
○ Maintain open and confidential communication with board members, district staff,
and the public

Salary & Benefits: Starting wage $55,000 to $60,000 depending on experience.

Position: Substitute Teacher

Summary:  Maintains as fully as possible the established routines and procedures of the school and classroom to which assigned. Teaches the lesson outlined and described in the substitute teacher’s plans as prepared by the absent teacher. Consults as appropriate with the principal before initiating any teaching or other procedures not specified in the teacher’s plans. Assumes responsibility for overseeing pupil behavior in class and during recess periods as assigned by the building principal.
